Our Vision...

To ensure equitable access to comprehensive healthcare services for every rural
community member, promoting well-being and resilience. We are committed to building bridges that connect people to the resources and support they need, as well as fostering strong relationships and trust within our community. We strive to create a healthier, more connected future for all by addressing local health challenges through innovative solutions and community collaboration.

About Us...

Lisa Moritz, BSN, RN, has dedicated 20 years to serving her hometown community as a highly skilled and compassionate registered nurse. Her career has been characterized by a steadfast commitment to public health and school health settings, where she has consistently demonstrated her ability to connect individuals with the services they need while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. Lisa’s approach is rooted in building bridges, not walls, ensuring that every member of her community feels supported and understood.

Throughout her career, Lisa has been instrumental in leading community health initiatives, particularly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under her leadership, the health department implemented mass vaccination clinics, disease investigations, and contact tracing efforts, all while maintaining a focus on providing the best care possible to friends, family, neighbors, and community members. Lisa is dedicated to providing everyone, infants to elderly, with an immunization experience with minimal trauma, employing several techniques (Shot Blocker, cold spray, Buzzy Bee, distraction, fun bandaids) to make the experience as comfortable and painless as possible and has been asked to speak at several conferences on the topic of “Reducing Pain and Trauma Associated with Immunizations”. Lisa spearheaded the design, renovation, and relocation of the Greeley County Health Department to a new facility that enhances community programming.

Lisa’s dedication extends beyond clinical work; she is an active member of various local and regional committees, where she continues to advocate for public health improvements. Her contributions have been recognized through numerous speaking engagements and leadership roles in state and national conferences, where she shares her expertise on reducing pain and trauma in immunizations.

With a career marked by empathy, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Lisa Moritz remains a cornerstone of public health in her community, always striving to make a positive impact on the lives she touches.

Melissa Miller brings over a decade of experience and a passion for public health to our team. She is committed to improving community health and supporting individuals through every stage of life, from prenatal care forward.

Raised in Greeley County, Melissa spent ten years in Denver before returning to her roots. As a mother of three young adults, she understands the unique challenges and joys that families face. Melissa’s passion for people and public health is the driving force behind her contributions to our team and the well-being of the individuals and families she serves.

Icenia Yanez brings her desire for helping others to her role at the Health Department, where she assists with interpreting for patients in the WIC, Immunizations, and Farmworkers programs and translating documents for the Health Department, as well as addressing any other questions clients may have. She is dedicated to ensuring that newcomers to our community are informed about the essential services and resources available to them, helping to ease their transition and improve their overall well-being.

In addition to her work with the Health Department, Icenia balances her responsibilities in the public school system, as a Para in the Federal Programs, Spanish Teacher, interpreter, translator for the school, and her active family life.
